How to Draw a Mandala (with a Compass)

Materials List

The following list has all the supplies and tools you'll need to make this project.

Step 1

With your pencil in the compass, draw a full circle in the center of your page.

Step 2

Along the edge of the circle, place compass point anywhere and draw a half circle.

Step 3

Starting where you just drew the half circle, draw another half circle. Continue until your first flower layer is done.

Step 4

To create more 'petals', start new arc (half circle) from a point between any two of your existing petals. Continue as Step 3 and create second flower layer.

Step 5

Tombow dual brush pens - set of 8 pastel markers

Tombow marker colors used in this project:

  • Green - 243
  • Blue - 451
  • Pink - 761
  • Yellow - 090
  • Gray - N60

Color in petals with Tombow markers and outline with felt tip black pen. Feel free to add your own embellishments like dashed lines, spirals, whatever you're feeling like drawing.
